Things to consider
Below is a summary of the key requirements for searching data in MiLi.
- Is the Material Number known?
- If YES, use “SEARCH MATERIAL NUMBER”?
- If NO, use “SEARCH KEYWORD” OR “EXACT PHRASE”
- Only one heading to be used per search
- Search can be performed in any order (Class / Noun / Size / Etc.)
- “SIMPLE SEARCH” is at the Global Level
- “ADVANCED SEARCH” to be used when searching at a Single Plant Level
- Clicking “CLEAR” will clear-out any search criteria in the headers
- Clicking “SEARCH” or hitting Enter on your keyboard will start your search
Clicking the Material Number after your search will show you a wide variety of information pertaining to that specific Material Number
Search by Material Number
If you already know your Material Number:
- Use “Search Material Number” by inserting your Material Number (Example below):
- By searching by the actual Material Number, you will only get the 1-Hit of what you are exactly looking for.
Search By Keyword
By using the “SEARCH KEYWORD”, you can find either one or multiple Material Number’s based off of your search criteria.
These searches can be used in any combination and you will still find the same exact Material Number’s (Example below):
From the example above, we can see that putting the search in any order, will still pull the same Material Number’s.
- Search 1 = GASKET 1500 CS = 3 Material Number’s
- Search 2 = 1500 CS Gasket = 3 Material Number’s
Search by Exact Phrase
By using the “EXACT PHRASE” search, you will be able to narrow down Material Number’s as the exact phrase will only look for exactly what you type in.
For example, if we were to type in “SPEC A” in our “SEARCH KEYWORD” search, we end up with 4,891 Material Number’s.
This search is picking up any Material Number that has the letter “A” or any Material Number that has “SPEC”
If we use the “EXACT PHRASE” search, MiLi will only look for Material Number’s that have the phrase SPEC A. As we can see below, this pulls up only 5 Material Number’s:
